After a Heart Attack

Have you had a heart issue? Heart attack, stents, or heart surgery? Recovery can be overwhelming and confusing to say the least, it is only natural, after all it is your heart!

I am sure you were given all the things when you were discharged from the hospital and had lots of professionals telling you all the other things that you needed to know and needed to do.  But if you are like many others, you listened but really couldn’t hear. You and possibly those closest to you just couldn’t take all that information in. It is too much information, too quickly at a time when you were overwhelmed, tired, scared and really wanting to just get home to your own bed and bathroom.

So now, whether it has been a week or even a year since you left the hospital it may be still a lot to process.  You not only have to come to terms with your heart but also with lifestyle changes and medications. You may be irritable, angry, or sullen with those you care about, sometimes it is hard to follow the doctor’s orders. You may even have some lingering heart symptoms or side effects from the medications that adds to your frustration and stress level. This is the very reason for the Take Control of Your Heart Health coaching program.  Cardiac Rehabilitation is the optimal setting for your recovery, but it is not always an option, after decades of guiding heart patients in their recovery I am offering the same coaching opportunity outside of that strict structure and moved it to a more convenient 1:1 virtual or by phone working with your schedule and lifestyle.
